Amazon.co.uk Review Part breakbeat sorcerer, part imaginary soundtrack composer and part jazz scientist, Amon Tobin has expanded on this latest LP, Out of Nowhere, his ability to create universes full of infinite sonic possibilities and thrill-seeking surprises. The key to listening, as with all of Tobin's work, is to try and expect the unexpected. One minute this album is lifting your soul with insouciant clouds of elf-dust; the next it's violently firing sharp darts of menacing brutalism at your head. Tobin's attention to detail shines through as he weaves finely clipped vocals and swirling soundtracks with beats so stuttering and sharp you could cut your ears on them. Overall this is yet another stunning combination of artistic reverie and breakbeat-fuelled revelry from one of the UK's most erudite post-drum 'n' bass producers. --Paul Sullivan
